Canterbury Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a green/blue Subaru station wagon (photo attached) making its way to Christchurch Hospital prior to its arrival at about 1.45am this morning (5 April 2015). Police understand that two men drove the man to hospital where he is being treated for a gunshot wound to his head.
The 40 year old man, who has known gang connections, is understood to be in a stable condition with his family by his side while he remains unconscious.
Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Stewart said that Police located the Subaru at approximately 10.30am this morning at a residential address in the Addington suburb of Christchurch. "The car has been seized and will undergo forensic examination. Inquiries into the identities of the two men who took the 40 year old man to hospital are ongoing."
Anyone with any information that may assist this investigation or may have seen the vehicle in the early hours of this morning are asked to contact Police on 03 363 7400.
