At approximately 5pm yesterday emergency services attended a crash on State Highway 2, Waiotahi in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
A ute crashed into the rear end of a truck and trailer unit. The male driver of the ute was airlifted to Tauranga hospital with serious injuries. No one else was injured in the crash.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed it.
