Police have upgraded the investigation into the death of Matthew STEVENS into a homicide investigation. The results of the post mortem have confirmed that he had suffered stab wounds and that he has been assaulted.
Detective Sergeant Mike Sears says “We still want to hear from anyone who has seen Mr Stevens or his vehicle which was a white Toyota Carolla registration RZ1852 anytime from 10.00pm on Thursday night through to 1.30am on Friday 28 November”.
Police are still undertaking a forensic examination of his vehicle. Anyone with information should cal1 04 381 2000 and ask for the Operation Vintage investigation team. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
