Police investigating the homicide of 54 year old Ihaia Gillman-Harris have made significant progress over the last 24 hours as a result of publicity seeking information to identify two men seen in CCTV footage at the Epsom motel where Mr Gillman-Harris was assaulted on 27 December.
A number of people have been spoken to which has helped advance the investigation.
Detective Inspector Scott Beard from Auckland City CIB says that Police now believe that the two men from the CCTV footage have been identified.
"We would now like to speak to these two men, however we believe they are aware Police are looking for them and are actively avoiding Police. We suggest they make contact with us in order to help resolve this investigation as soon as possible."
