Nelson man charged with dangerous driving

A driver who went the wrong way around a roundabout in Nelson today has been charged with dangerous driving and had his car impounded. 
 
A police officer spotted the car on the roundabout at St Vincent/Toi Toi Street at 1.30pm this afternoon and signalled the car to stop. 
 
The driver failed to stop and fled from Police.   Police abandoned their pursuit of the car after a short time due to the manner of driving. 
 
The car was later spotted up a driveway at a Nelson home and the driver, a 20-year-old Nelson man, was taken into custody without incident. 
 
He has been summoned to appear in Nelson District Court.
