Name release: Hornby homicide

Police can now name the man who died following an assault at a house on Skerten Avenue, Hornby on 20 October. 

He was Christchurch man Jared James Little, aged 35.

A 25-year-old woman charged with burglary following Jared’s death has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Christchurch District Court again on 4 November 2019.

A 22-year-old man, also charged with burglary and remanded in custody, is due to appear in court again on 22 January 2020.

Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to Jared’s death, however the investigation is ongoing and further charges are likely.

Police would still like to hear from anyone with information that could assist the investigation into Jared’s death.

In particular, Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a white Holden Commodore parked on Skerten Avenue on the evening of 20 October, around 7.30-7.45pm.
