A male motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after colliding with a car north of Te Aroha.
The crash happened at the intersection of State Highway 26 and the northern end of Rawhiti Road around 4.30pm.
The road was closed for several hours and traffic diverted while emergency services attended.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
