At about 0015hrs, Tuesday 10 November Police were called to a truck versus pedestrian 6 kilometres north of the Waiouru township.
First aid was administered by the Fire Service and Police on scene until Ambulance arrived.
The male has sustained moderate to serious injuries and has been airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital by the rescue helicopter. The Police Serious Crash unit has been called to investigate.
No further information is being released at this stage.
