Three Wellington high schools will soon offer the Year 13 Introduction to Police Studies course, celebrating with a launch at the Royal New Zealand Police College this week.
The course, which offers 25 NCEA Level 3 credits, will now become an option for students at Aotea, Mana and Kapiti Colleges.
Students and staff from all three schools will be at the launch, along with local Iwi and a number of Police staff.
Commissioner Mike Bush, Police Minister Hon Stuart Nash, Minister of Civil Defence Hon Kris Faafoi and Kapiti-Mana Mayor K Gurunathan will also be present.
The launch will include a Police Dog Unit and Armed Offenders Squad display, as well as speakers from Police and the schools.
Media are welcome to attend the launch which takes place 3pm Friday 1 February at the Royal New Zealand Police College in Papakowhai, Porirua.
