Police and other emergency services remain at the site of a serious crash on Matakana Rd, Matakana.
Based on further information from the scene, four people have been transported to hospital as a result of the crash, which involved a van and a truck and trailer unit.
Two people have received critical injuries, one person has serious injuries and one person has received moderate injuries.
The police diversions on Matakana Rd – at Sharp Rd and Matakana Valley Rd - will remain in place for some time.
Police urge motorists to exercise patience and expect delays as a result of the diversions.
