A man has died after Police fired a shot during an incident in Paeroa this morning.
Police were attending a private address in response to reports of an individual being threatened with a machete.
The male allegedly threatened Police with the weapon.
Police provided first aid to the man but he was later declared deceased.
Any information about the deceased male will not be released until next of kin have been informed.
