Man dies in apparent drowning

A man has died in an apparent drowning near Seatoun in Wellington this afternoon.
 
Emergency services were called at 4.10pm after the man, who it is believed had been free diving, was pulled from the water unconscious. 
 
Sadly, attempts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful.
 
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
