A 62-year-old Mohaka man has been charged with murder in relation to the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man at a rural property in Mohaka, near Wairoa, yesterday.
He is due to appear before Gisborne District Court today, Thursday 13 October.
Police are currently carrying out a scene examination at the site of the shooting, which happened just before 11am on Wednesday 12 October, 2016.
A post mortem is also due to be carried out tomorrow.
As the matter is now before the courts, Police won't be making any further comment.
