A 36-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a stabbing on Ohauiti Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The arrest was made following the execution of a search warrant at an address in Tauranga this afternoon.
The arrested man will appear at Tauranga District Court tomorrow charged with wounding.
The investigation is continuing into the death of Takena Tiepa-Ranapia on nearby Mansfield Street and police still urge anyone with information, no matter how irrelevant it may seem, to come forward.
Police are particularly interested in the movements of a maroon four-door Ford Laser sedan in the Tauranga and Mount Maunganui areas between midnight and 1am.
