At around 7pm this evening a woman has been thrown from a moving vehicle on Huia Road in Papatoetoe.
She has been rushed to Middlemore Hospital in a critical condition.
It is believed the vehicle was a silver sedan.
Road diversions are in place at East Tamaki Road and Huia Road. The public are advised that there is no access to the on and off ramps to the motorway from the Western side of East Tamaki road.
Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call the Counties Manukau Crimesquad on 09 261 1321.
