Incident in Meadowvale Rise, Titirangi

Police have taken a 31 year-old man into custody this evening, following a callout to a property in Meadowvale Rise, Titirangi.
 
Police were initially called to assist with a domestic incident, however there were concerns that firearms may be involved and the Armed Offenders Squad assisted as a precautionary measure.
 
The man refused to come out of the house and in order for this to occur, several cannisters of tear gas were required to be deployed. The man came out of the house and no shots were fired.
 
He has been arrested and is now at the Henderson Police Station.
 
The Armed Offenders Squad have been stood down.
 
Residents can be reassured that the incident is now over and Police are not looking for anyone else.
