Police are investigating after a woman was found this morning on the side of a road in Dome Valley with serious injuries.
A member of the public found the victim at around 7am and immediately called for assistance.
The woman, who is Caucasian, believed to be in her mid to late 20s, and of medium build has been flown to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.
She has a tattoo on the outside of her lower left leg.
Police are working to identify the victim and to establish what has happened.
