Hutt Valley Police have launched a sudden death investigation after the body of a 24-year-old male was found at a Puriri Street, Wainuiomata, address around 3.00pm yesterday.
The scene was secured overnight and a scene examination and post mortem will be undertaken over the course of the day.
As the scene examination progresses and once the initial results of the post mortem are known, Police will be able to determine the course of the investigation.
Police have not ruled out the possibility of upgrading the investigation to a homicide investigation as more information becomes available.
Police will not be releasing the name of the victim until family members have been advised.
