At around 7pm tonight Police were called to an incident at a home in Wairere Road, Waitakere.
A man has died at the address and a homicide investigation is now underway.
Police are looking for a man who is known to the occupants of the address and who had been at the property earlier this evening. For operational reasons his name will not be released at this stage however Police can reassure the public that a significant Police response is underway to locate him.
The scene will be guarded overnight and a full scene examination will be conducted tomorrow morning.
Police are in the process of informing the victim’s next of kin and will not be releasing any further details about him at this stage.
Because of the early nature of the enquiry, no further comment is able to be made tonight. A further update is expected to be provided after 11am tomorrow morning.
