Hawke's Bay Police are investigating the death of a man in Akina, Hastings overnight as a homicide.
Police were called to a Lumsden Road address at around 2:35am after receiving a report of a critically injured man.
Emergency services administered CPR but the man died at the scene.
Two people are assisting with enquiries and Police are not seeking anyone further.
Scene examinations will be conducted today and likely tomorrow at Lumsden Road and other addresses of interest.
