Waikato police and scientists from ESR today continued to examine two addresses on Merlot Place, Hamilton, where a man was stabbed yesterday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ross PATTERSON, of Hamilton CIB, said: “We have now established that a man has driven into Merlot Place and confronted the victim, and this developed into an altercation. During this fracas the victim has been chased into the garage of a neighbouring address where the altercation continued.
"The victim managed to make his way back to his home, where he was assisted by his family and neighbours. Police arrived to ensure the safety of those present and assist the victim until St John Ambulance staff arrived to provide care to the victim, who had sustained life-threatening stab wounds. He was transported to Waikato Hospital and is currently in a stable condition.
"Waikato Police will tomorrow also examine a third address, where a woman sustained stab wounds. She was also treated at Waikato Hospital and has since been discharged.”
A 52-year-old Hamilton man will appear in the Hamilton District court tomorrow charged with two counts of attempted murder.
