A 38-year-old man appeared in Hastings District Court today in relation to a serious incident involving two children in Havelock North on 5 October.
The man has been charged with kidnapping and threatening to kill/do grievous bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody to appear again on 31 October.
Police would like to thank members of the public who checked their properties and were able to locate a black puffer jacket and other items being sought by officers investigating this incident.
Police are still trying to identify where a mauve-coloured night dress (pictured) was taken from. If you are able to assist in this regard, please contact Police via 105 and quote file number 231005/2426.
We are also aware there were a number of potential witnesses in and around the Nimon Street area at the time of the incident, who may not yet have spoken to Police - including people who were out walking dogs or playing sport in the area.
