Four arrests following search of property in Woolston

Canterbury Police have arrested four men, without incident, following a planned operation to locate a person of interest in the Woolston area of Christchurch at lunchtime today (29 April 2015). 

Cordons were established as a precaution while Canterbury Police AOS cleared the property. 

Canterbury Police seized a quantity of drugs, two firearms and ammunition following a search of the property.

A 25 year old local man has been charged with possession of drugs and paraphernalia and a number of driving related charges including driving while disqualified, dangerous driving and failing to stop for Police.  He is due to appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow (30 April 2015).

A 47 year old man has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine.  A third man aged 41 has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and a 19 year old man had an active warrant to arrest.  The three men are all due to appear in Christchurch District Court early next week.

Canterbury Police would like to thank the public for their patience while some roads in the area were closed this lunchtime.
