Fleeing driver incident in Christchurch - police appealing for witness sightings

Police can confirm that there was a fleeing driver incident this morning which started in North Canterbury and ended in an inner city Christchurch suburb near Woolston.  Police are currently speaking to the driver of the vehicle who is assisting Police with inquiries.

It's believed a quadbike was stolen from a rural property near Amberley.

Later a green 4WD Nissan Patrol vehicle with an A-frame tow bar on the front was taken and seen driving erratically towards Christchurch.  

The male driver drove through roadworks at high speed and damaged fences, private property and a golf course.

Police are asking for sightings of this vehicle this morning between 9am and 10am in the Canterbury area who was also seen driving through a river.
