At about 5.28pm today, a 30 year old female was involved in a motor vehicle accident near the sky field car park on Mt Taranaki.
She was flown to Taranaki base hospital by the rescue helicopter but died as a result of her injuries on route.
The Serious Crash Unit will be investigating the cause of the accident.
The woman’s name will not be released until family members have been notified.
