One person has died in a three-vehicle crash on Omihi Road (SH1), Greta Valley on Saturday evening.
Four others were also injured in the collision, which involved a truck and two other vehicles, shortly after 6pm. The serious crash unit is investigating.
Diversions are in place southbound at Scargill Valley Road, and northbound at Waipara SH1/SH7.
Police are asking motorists to take extra care in the area and thank them in advance for their patience with any delays.
