One person is dead and two people are in hospital following a crash on the Coastal Highway near Mapua today.
The crash happened about 4.30pm on the stretch of highway between Maisey Rd and Stringer Rd.
It involved a car with two occupants and a motorcycle. The female driver of the car died at the scene.
The male motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and the male passenger in the car was also injured.
A serious crash investigation is under way.
The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin have been informed.
