The family of the 16 year-old boy killed in a hit and run will join Inspector Trevor Beggs at the press conference this afternoon.
This will be held at the scene on Rua Road in New Lynn.
Following an update from Inspector Beggs, the victim’s mum and sister will speak to media, after which time a blessing of the site will be held.
The road will be closed during this time, from around 2.20pm until after the blessing concludes.
Media are welcome to film the blessing but are asked to maintain a respectful distance.
