Police can confirm a man has died following an explosion this afternoon at Salters Cartage in Wiri.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Bolderwood Drive at around 1:40pm this afternoon (15 September 2015).
The deceased was a contractor.
It is still unclear the cause of the explosion and Police and WorkSafe New Zealand are investigating.
Police are currently interviewing a number of workers who were in the area at the time.
