Emergency services respond to two Upper Hutt crashes

Emergency services are currently responding to two crashes in Upper Hutt.

The first, involving two cars, took place near the Whakatiki Street turnoff on State Highway 2.  Four people were injured in the crash, with injuries ranging from critical to moderate.  

The road is closed between the Silverstream intersection and Gibbons Street and there is likely to be signficiant delays as emergency services work to clear the scene. Motorists are asked to avoid the area or delay travel where possible.

The second crash involved a car and a cyclist and took place at the Stokes Valley and Eastern Hutt roundabout.  The cyclist received minor injuries.
