Dog killed after hit and run update

1 min read

Christchurch Police are seeking witnesses or information to help identify a vehicle involved in a traffic incident outside the Richmond Workingmen’s Club on Monday 30 December at 5.35pm.

A blue Holden Commodore (similar to a 1984 model) mounted the footpath and struck a small family dog being walked by its owner.  As a result of this collision the dog was thrown onto the road where it was hit by a second vehicle.   Sadly the dog died at the scene.

Police have spoken to the driver of the second vehicle.

Police are still seeking the driver of the Holden that mounted the footpath and struck the dog and are appealing to the public for information.

Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Constable Steve Sibley 0211911385 or can provide information anonymously by calling  CRIMESTOPPERS  on 0800 555111
