Description of offender following Christchurch attack

Canterbury Police are appealing for information from the public following an attack on a woman in Ilam in the early hours of Friday 22nd  July.

The woman was walking by herself through the Ilam Fields towards Waimairi Road when she was grabbed by a man and pulled to the ground.

Police are looking for a male about 196cm tall, broad shouldered who was wearing long dark pants and a dark hooded top.

He was also wearing a ribbed knit balaclava or beanie with eyes holes which had been cut out.

"We obviously would like to catch this person and would like to hear from anyone who saw a man matching this description last Friday around the area of Ilam fields," says Detective Sergeant Reeves.
