The Police operation to remove a truck which went off the road on State Highway Two between Napier and Wairoa yesterday, is running longer than expected.
The accident occurred shortly after 4pm yesterday about half way between Putorino and Kotemaori.
This section of road has been closed since 10am today to allow for a crane to access the sight and remove the truck and its cargo.
This operation was expected to be finished by midday but will now be finished late this afternoon.
Traffic is being let through with stop/go operations in place but motorists should expect delays into the late afternoon.
