Police have finalised the scene examination of an address in Vera Street, Marton where there was a fatal house fire in the early hours of Friday 8th January 2016.
The deceased body has been recovered and transported to Palmerston North.
Police have notified the next of kin however are not is position to release the deceased name as his identity remains unconfirmed.
It is still too early to reach a final determination as to the cause of the fire however it is not deemed to be suspicious.
