Emergency services were called to a crash on Broadway Avenue in Palmerston North at 7.45pm.
Initial information suggests that the driver of one car suffered a medical event and crashed into another car.
Sadly the person who suffered the medical event died at the scene. Nobody from the second car was injured.
No further information regarding the deceased person will be released until family members have been notified.
