Caleb Kovaleski has been remanded in custody after appearing in Palmerston North District Court this morning following the incident in Cloverlea.
When he appeared in court Mr Kovaleski faced charges of presenting a firearm against Police, dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving while disqualified.
The criminal investigation into the incident is continuing and Police would like to hear from any witnesses who have information about the movements of Mr Kovaleski on Thursday 30 June.
