Cordons have been stood down in central Nelson after an item of concern was found to be stereo equipment.
Emergency services responded after reports of a suspicious package on Bridge Street in central Nelson at around 12:40pm.
Bridge Street and a number of nearby streets were cordoned off and surrounding buildings evacuated for a short time.
