Christchurch Police are investigating a number of thefts across the Canterbury region including service stations, dairies and other locations.
Staff are following a number of lines of enquiries in relation to the identities of those involved, however we are asking the public for assistance.
Attached are a number of images from the BP in Sawyers Arms on Sunday 18 September and the Z Waikuku on Tuesday 20 September where the offenders have entered the store and targeted a number of items including cash and cigarettes.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may recognise any of the individuals in the footage or who may have seen someone trying to sell cheap cigarettes through social media.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Christchurch Central Police station on 03 363 7400.
Alternatively, information can also be provided anonymously via the organisation Crime Stoppers on 0508 555 111.
Police are also reminding the public that cigarettes which are sold through social media are likely to be stolen, and you may be committing an offence should you buy them.
