Canterbury Police have charged two people as part of an ongoing investigation into the aggravated robbery of three youth with an imitation firearm at around 11.45pm last night (19 January 2016) in Parklands.
Detective Sergeant Nicola Reeves says Police have recovered a number of items that were stolen including a cell phone and clothing. “The victims were not physically injured but are understandably shaken by the incident. A number of items have yet to be recovered and the victims are being supported by Police and Victim Support.”
A 28 year old man and 22 year old man, both from Christchurch, are jointly charged with aggravated robbery. They are both due to appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow morning (21 January 2016).
Police investigations are ongoing.
As this matter is now before the courts Police are unable to provide any further information.
