Emergency services were called to a car on fire on Hill Road in Belmont, Lower Hutt shortly after 7am this morning.
Upon arrival the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
The fire has now been extinguished and police can confirm that an unidentified person has been found deceased at the scene.
Police are unable to release any further details at this stage.
