Christchurch Police have arrested a man in connection with the homicide that occurred at Rangiora on Friday [13 September 2013].
A 36-year old Christchurch man was arrested late last night and will appear in the Christchurch District Court today.
He will face a charge of murdering Tony John Lochhead and the aggravated wounding of Mr Lochhead's brother.
Detective Inspector David Long says Police enquiries are continuing to identify others who were involved in this incident.
"We are not ruling out the possibility that other arrests will be made in connection with this matter," he says.
The scene examination at the White Street property where the incident took place is expected to be completed late today.
Police are continuing to call for any information about people hitch-hiking between Rangiora and Christchurch on Friday night.
