At 12:00pm today Masterton Police arrested a 44 year old male in relation to the accidental shooting of a 44 year old male north of Masterton, while duck hunting on the 2nd of May 2014.
The male will be facing a charge of careless use of a firearm causing injury, and has been bailed to appear in the Masterton District Court at a later date.
At this point in time the victim of the shooting remains in a stable but serious condition at Wellington Hospital.
