North Shore Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at Valentines Restaurant on Wairau Road, Glenfield last night.
At 5.25pm the man in the attached photos (video also available) entered the restaurant and approached the female employee as she stood behind the bar.
The offender threw the employee a black bag and told her to fill it with money. As the woman followed the instruction, the offender presented a gun and pointed it at her. She handed the bag to the offender and he walked out of the restaurant.
Detective Sergeant Steve Pivac, North Shore CIB, says the female employee was shaken but wasn't injured. The restaurant was closed at the time to diners and patrons who were in the nearby gaming section, which was open, were unaware that anything was occuring.
"The offender wore quite a distinctive jacket that we're hoping someone will recognise. It was a blue stadium style jacket, with white sleeves. This was worn over a grey hoodie and a black cap. He was aged in his 20's or 30's and has been described as a fair-skinned maori, or tanned caucasian with facial stubble, tall (about 170cms) with a medium build" says Det Sgt Pivac.
Anyone with information is asked to contact North Shore Police on 09 213 7898. Information can also be given anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
