At 1.23pm on Thursday 25 August, a lone male armed with a shotgun enter the Kiwi Bank / Post Shop at 218 Richardson Road, Mt Roskill. He approached the counter and presented the shotgun at the Post Shop manager and staff.
He demanded cash from the till and then ran off with an undisclosed quantity of cash. The man was seen getting into a stolen silver Mazda registration ERT981 driven by another male. The vehicle drove off up Richardson Road heading towards Mt Roskill.
The male offender is described as:
• Light skinned male
• Slim build
• 5ft 8”
• 40-50yrs
Wearing:
• an orange florescent jacket with silver flashes on the arms and shoulders
• black hooded jumper
• dark pants
• white gloves
• dark work shoes / boots
• dark baseball cap with white writing on it
The whereabouts of the stolen Mazda is still unknown.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery. In particular there were two females and a male customer inside the bank at the time of the robbery who Police would like to contact.
