Police have cordoned off a house in Dannevirke his evening following a shooting incident.
The incident occurred around 6.30pm when it is believed someone discharged a shotgun through the window of a residential address. It is not clear at this stage whether one or more shots were fired.
There were two adult men, four adult women and a child inside the house at the time. One woman received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance staff, but did not require hospital treatment. It is not clear at this stage whether the injuries were from the shot being fired or from broken glass or debris.
A scene guard is being placed on the house overnight and a forensic examination will take place in the morning.
Those inside the house did not hear a vehicle but it may be that whoever fired the shot had a vehicle nearby.
