Unique Play House Stolen In Glenfield

1 min read

North Shore Police are appealing to the public for any sightings of a unique playhouse which has been stolen from a roadside reserve in the suburb of Glenfield.

Police say the solid wooden playhouse weighs more than 200 kilograms. It measures at 2.4 metres long and 1.2 metres wide and 1.8 metres high. The playhouse has recently been advertised for sale.

The construction is comprised of fence rails and posts and is complete with a stable door, verandah and swing. It took the owner about five days and $550 to build the playhouse. There is sufficient room inside for two adults and two children.

A witness has reported seeing the playhouse aboard a black trailer at 5.50am on Friday 20 February 2009. The trailer was being towed in the darkness by an unidentified vehicle. Police later discovered the abandoned trailer at Onepoto Domain in Northcote, but neither the playhouse nor the vehicle has been sighted.

Anyone with information or sightings of the playhouse is urged to contact Constable Sian Smith of the North Shore Police on 09 477 5000 or text in confidence to 027 27 27 669.
