Good samaritans contact police

1 min read

A couple who were seen helping an intoxicated man into his boarding house has today contacted Wellington Police following media publicity.

Detective Sergeant John Van Den Heuvel, Wellington CIB, said the man and woman were friends of Mr Craig Wilson, 44, whose body was found on Monday in a room at the Lodge in the City where he lived.

"The couple recognised themselves from CCTV footage we had released. They had been with Mr Wilson earlier on Thursday evening, 5 February, and had seen him safely home after he had been having a few drinks."

Police say Mr Wilson's death is not suspicious, and the file will be referred to the coroner.
