Hamilton Detectives investigating yesterday's shooting of a 16-year-old youth have made an arrest as the investigation progresses.
Detective Senior Sergeant PAGE of the Hamilton CIB said an 18 year old unemployed Hamilton man was arrested last night and will appear in the Hamilton District Court on Monday 16 February 2009 to face a single firearms related charge.
"The investigation is continuing with investigators focussing on creating an accurate reconstruction of the events before and after the shooting.
"That reconstruction will assist Police in determining if any further charges should be considered," said Mr Page.
Meanwhile the victim remains in a serious condition at Waikato Hospital while Police wait for a suitable opportunity to be able to speak with him about his version of events.
Mr Page said Police are not looking for other persons in relation to the shooting.
