Hamilton Police investigating yesterday's shooting of a man outside his Frankton home will be carrying out a scene examination today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Page of the Hamilton CIB said the scene examination of the Duke St address would be carried out with the assistance of forensic scientists.
The victim, a 51-year-old man, underwent surgery early yesterday evening to remove a bullet from his shoulder and is currently recovering in Waikato Hospital.
"His injury was not considered life threatening and we understand he is currently in a stable condition," said Mr Page.
"Other than examining the property where the victim lived the focus for the inquiry team today will be the re-interviewing of witnesses and people associated with the victim."
Detectives spoke to the victim yesterday and will be speaking to him again today.
"One of the developments from our enquiries so far has been that we now believe the shooting may have taken place earlier in the morning, between 5.30-7.00am," said Mr Page.
"So the inquiry team is interested in any information on anyone suspicious in the area between those times and also of any suspicious vehicles or vehicle movements."
