The woman who was killed in a car crash near Wanganui this morning (Saturday, 29 November) has been named as 59-year-old Georgina Maud Mareikura from Palmerston North.
She was the driver of a Honda car travelling towards Wanganui on SH3 at Marybank, around 7am this morning, when her car collided head-on with a Holden travelling towards Palmerston North.
Also in the Honda was an 11-year-old female relative of Ms Mareikura who received minor injuries.
The female driver of the Holden is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
